GARLIC

California Giant Garlic

Garlic has been used as a culinary spice and medicinal herb. It has been cultivated in the Middle East for more than 5,000 years and has been an important part of traditional Chinese medicine. The region with the largest commercial production is central California. China is also a supplier. It is mentioned in the Bible and the Talmud. Hippocrates and Galen mention its use for many conditions. Its use in China was first mentioned in A.D. 510. Louis Pasteur also studied the antibacterial action in 1858.

It has related plants in the Allium family like onions, chives and scallions that will provide similiar benefits. From the list above it seems these plants are a cure all, maybe so maybe not but I don't see any harm that they will cause unless you have an allergy to them.

Herbs Alive! promotes lush foliage without reducing herbs' aromatic oils. Click here.

The main fault of garlic is the breath it produces, however, there are odorless garlic supplements out there to use.

Another method of enhancing this plant is what has been used by the Japanese for many years. That of preserving it in vinegar for a short period of years like 2. Many have claimed this increases its potency.

Here are a few of the questions from the search engines:

    How to Grow Garlic

    Elephant Garlic -
The Elephant Garlic, ‘Allium sativum,’ is a spring planted bulb that can grow to up to four inches across. This hardy perennial is a favorite of many chefs due to its milder flavor. This variety of garlic prefers good fertilization and organic soils. The foliage is long, flat and grass-like, and will smell of garlic or onion when it is crushed. The bulbs should be planted very early in the spring.
