HERB GROWING
HERB GROWING-- when your soil is warm, after the frost-free date in your area, it may be time to plant the herb seeds in your garden. consider it very important when planting seeds outdoors to use fine humus soil, both under and over the seeds, then to add a light mulch, and to give an almost-daily watering with a delicate spray.
When the plants have two sets of leaves, transplant the seedlings to their permanent locations, spacing them as recommended on the seed packet. Mulch well, and be sure roots do not dry out.
Herbs adore raised beds. This is gardens of enriched soil several inches above ground level, bordered by bricks and concrete barriers. This allows for better drainage and stronger root systems. You can start out with the raised beds, or create them gradually through the use of regular spring and winter mulchings of organic materials, which will eventually decompose and become additional layers of soil.
