Sul-Po-Mag—Improve Your Soil
For Healthy Plants

Custom Search

If your soil is low in sulfur or magnesium, Sul-Po-Mag could be the prescription for healthier plants.

This product is a mined mineral called langbeinite (K2Mg2(SO4)3), which is potassium magnesium sulfate. These three minerals are very important to plant health.

Sulfur is involved in the synthesis of sulfur amino acids, which then combine with others to form plant protein.

Potassium helps root systems develop, increases plant vigor, and increases resistance to cold weather. Crops with adequate potassium will have stronger stocks and stems, produce lots of sugar and protein and be more disease resistant.

Magnesium is necessary for DNA and RNA synthesis in all life. In plants, it's needed to synthesize chlorophyll, which is the engine of photosynthesis.

Sul-Po-Mag is sold with 22% potassium, 22% sulfur and 11% magnesium.

It has a slightly acid pH, so if you have problems with highly acid soil, you may not want to use it.

Also, since it's highly soluble, it can harm your Soil Food Web (soil organisms). If your soils are barren (little soil life, not much organic matter), consider kickstarting them with Sul-Po-Mag and some other minerals. Then introduce soil organisms the following year.
